I live in south London and work as a children’s book editor, which is just as lovely as it sounds. But I also do a bit of writing – mainly about my travels – and you can read it here.

I have had two articles published by the Times online – both about my trip to Palestine. Read them here  and here. (The former was chosen as one of Times editors’ favourite travel features of 2007.)

I also had a piece shortlisted for the annual Bradt/Independent on Sunday travel writing competition. You can read it (minus italics!) here.

  1. Brilliant stuff Emily – great travel writing transports the reader and yours most definitely does that – even if Irish Ferries surrounded by vomiting children isn’t the first place I’d ask to be transported to! 🙂 Looking forward to reading more of your excellent work (and hopefully pilfering a catchy turn of phrase or two!).

    • Ha ha, sorry about that, Barry – I’ll try to compensate by transporting you somewhere nice soon (though for today I’m afraid you’ll have to settle for a particularly dangerous campsite in the New Forest!) Thanks for dropping by! x
